DRILLING FLUIDS
AND SOLIDS CONTROL
SME
He oversees and champions opportunity identification, support and operational excellence (HSE and SQ) for all 360 Drilling Consultants Customer globally.
Villarreal’s career began in 1997 (3 yrs.) working in South Texas for Newpark Drilling Fluids as Field Professional responsible for rig site drilling fluid operations, optimizing water-based and oil-based drilling fluids, maintaining inventories, field testing and carrying out the designed fluid program.
He joined Halliburton Energy Services Baroid PSL in 2000 (15 yrs.), as a Sr. Field Professional continuing to work in South Texas. In 2001 he moved into the Baroid Regional Lab in Alice, TX proving field support and troubleshooting fluid issue as a Scientific Advisor. Promotion followed from 2006-2015 that included Technical Professional, Operations Leader to Baroid PSL, Operations Manager in the Permian Basin, Global Account Technical Expert, to ExxonMobil Global Account Manager with Russia Regional responsibility helping manage the Kara Sea joint venture with Rosneft. This experience helped gain exposure to working with foreign government establishing facilities and use of services internationally.
In 2017 (3yrs) joined Apache Corp. based in San Antonio as the Drilling Fluids and Solids Control SME for the North America Unconventional Resources (NAUR) responsibilities included creation and implementation of cost containment and reduction in relation to all drilling fluids and solids control personnel, chemical and equipment and on location. Through collaboration with the data analytics team in house we developed matrix and KPI’s to evaluate and track progress throughout the different projects and field exploitation, resulting in overall performance improvement and cost reduction year over year.
Villarreal holds a BAAS degree in Business from University of the Incarnate Word, MSM degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and is a member of SPE and AADE, patent awards include:

Alfredo Villarreal Jr & Bill Shumway. “Weighting Agent, Dry Solids Particulate with Soluble Coating, Removable Coating for Changing the Density of Weighting Agents Expandable Coating for Solids Particles ” HES-2012-IP-055867U1 -Patent Application. Patent Issued. 2014
Bahri Kutlu
DRILLING ENGINEER
Bahri Kutlu is a Partner at 360 Drilling Consultants, bringing a rare blend of front-line drilling experience, modern data analytics, and completions/frac domain expertise.
He began his career in 2009 with Karkim Drilling Fluids in Turkey, working along the Iraq border as a Drilling Fluids Engineer. During this period, he managed rig-site fluid programs, inventory, and QA/QC field testing—building a strong foundation in well construction and operational discipline.
In 2014, Bahri joined Apache Corporation as a Drilling Operations Center Team Lead, where he oversaw real-time drilling parameter monitoring, engineering modeling, and data-driven performance optimization. His transition to Drilling Engineering in 2015 placed him on the Alpine High (AH) asset, where he played a key role in reducing well costs—achieving a 52% reduction in the southern AH area and a 25% per-well reduction in the northern AH—and driving continuous drilling performance improvements through design changes, automation of engineering workflows, and real-time decision support.
Beyond drilling, Bahri has developed significant expertise in hydraulic fracturing analytics and reservoir-driven stage optimization. His work spans pseudo leak-off interpretation, frac efficiency modeling, and integrating high-frequency surface/van data to enable real-time completions insights.
Bahri holds a Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering from Middle East Technical University and an M.S. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Tulsa. His graduate thesis focused on lightweight drilling fluids, and he is the author of multiple technical publications, including JERT-14-1352 and SPE-191797-MS.
Today, Bahri combines a deep operational background with modern data engineering and AI-enabled analytics—helping operators unlock drilling and completions performance through practical engineering, clear insights, and technology that actually works in the field.
